A Very Potter Musical

Back to witches and wizards and magical beasts. To goblins and ghosts and to magical feasts. It’s all that I love and it’s all that I need! Hogwarts, Hogwarts! I think I’m going back!

Hey there! How’s everybody doing?
The topic I chose to talk about today is totally awesome! The fan made musical “A Very Potter Musical”. For all of you kids who have read all the books, have seen all the movies, wrote your own fan-fiction, grew up with Harry or just enjoy the story or a musical, I suggest you check this out.
The main cast is: Harry, played by Darren Criss who you might recognize from the TV show Glee, on which he plays the role of Blaine, Kurt’s mentor, Ron, played by Joey Richter, Hermione by Bonnie Gruesen, Ginny performed by Jaime Lyn Beatty, Draco Malfoy very well done by Lauren Lopez (yes, a girl), Voldemort by Joe Walker, Dumbledore done by Dylan Saunders, Snape done by Joe Moses and Professor Quirrel, played by Brian Rosenthal. (For the whole casting go to Team StarKid official website.)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Now, even though Quirrel is in this musical, it doesn’t really tell the story of  The Philosopher’s Stone (The Sorcerer’s Stone in the US), it’s more of a mix up of all the books put together, so if you want to get all the jokes told in the musical I really hope you’ve read all the books. And I’m not saying you won’t enjoy it if you didn’t, but there might be some spoilers!
I know they are not doing it live anymore. The show was performed live in 2009, only in Chicago and some HP Conventions.
You can download the sountrack here.
StarKid has also produced and performed two other musicals that are also on their YouTube Channel and are called “Me and my Dick” and… *drums*… A Very Potter Sequel, on which they did what every HP fan wished J.K. Rowling would do: the Death Eaters used the time-turner to go back in time, to Harry’s first year in Hogwarts to try and kill him. It is also pretty epic!
I hope you enjoy it! I know I did!
See you next time! 🙂

I’m a Harry Potter fan and i must say this musical is so much fun haha, there couldnt be a better ‘fake Harry’ than Darren Criss, he sings so great and his acting is just natural.

Thanks for making me watch this all over again xD.

    Thumbs up for you Nena!
